Access to Microfinance and Improved Implementation of Policy Reform (AMIR) Project
Chemonics International (USAID)
The AMIR project promoted economic growth and prosperity in Jordan through creation of a more favorable environment for business. Making Cents International built the capacity of WAEDAT, a local women’s entrepreneurship development and training organization that serves small and medium-sized businesses. WAEDAT aims to provide intensive targeted business development services to program participants to create a cadre of successful businesswomen in the country. Making Cents provided training and technical assistance to help WAEDAT offer more cross-cutting and sector-specific business development and training services to women entrepreneurs, including a mentoring program, advisor’s program, networking, and business linkage activities. WAEDAT has since supported more than 2,000 women throughout Jordan and the Arab world, creating a stronger network of mentors for the next generation of entrepreneurs throughout the Middle East.
